With the cooperation of CKV, a part of the legacy of the artist found a permanent repository in the Bibliotheca Wasiana.

On Tuesday, September 22, 2020, the eleven national service heritage organizations, including the CKV, came together in Leuven to receive the Prime Minister and Minister of Culture Jan Jambon. Because who are we? What are we doing? And what binds us? The minister received an answer to these questions.

An artist’s life – how can it be conserved and kept alive? Rue Marcel Broodthaers shows the way with its structuring and organisation of the legacy and archives of Galerie Margaretha de Boevé and Galerie Pim De Rudder.

Hans Theys is a twentieth-century philosopher and art historian. He has written and designed dozens of books on the works of contemporary artists and hundreds of essays, interviews and reviews in books, catalogues and magazines.

The Luc Fierens archive isn’t just an illustration of a fascinating artistic practice but also represents an extraordinary networking of that practice, oeuvre and ideas.

CKV investigates the manifestation of the archive as a work of art and visited Belgian mail art artist Guy Bleus (1950) who developed his archive into his overarching artistic project.

CKV was a guest at the Kunsthal Ghent. Together we talked about what an archive makes, about why archiving, about how to structure and organize, about acid-free packaging, about digitization and much more!

Based on the archive of artist Otobong Nkanga, CKV is investigating together with the University of Antwerp what can be a good practice for preserving performances in the visual arts.

The CKV and the Flemish Architecture Institute (VAi) are looking into how to take care of the archive, knowledge and ideas of Luc Deleu / T.O.P Office sustainably.

CKV paid a visit to the Johan Van Geluwe Foundation, a foundation that has represented the interests of the artist and his impressive archive for over ten years.
