Making your legacy accessible

An artistic legacy can be preserved with care, but that alone won’t make it visible to the general public. As an artist, heir or other stakeholder, your activities linked to the legacy are also focused on opening up the legacy, so that a new generation of artists, researchers, curators and others can see and consult it. There are different possibilities for this, from building a website to organising an exhibition. There’s plenty of space for your own creative energy!

The important thing when making your artistic legacy accessible to others is to clarify the rights that exist, specifically copyright and related rights. The question of privacy is also very important. With this in mind, the CKV advises you to set down arrangements in writing in advance, along with any terms and conditions such as asking for permission to use or reproduce the material.
