The Johan Van Geluwe Foundation
In the spring of 2019, the CKV was invited to the Johan Van Geluwe Foundation and to meet Johan Van Geluwe (1929-2020) himself in Waregem. The foundation aims to promote and coordinate studies into the work and person of Johan Van Geluwe. Moreover, the foundation has been inventorying and collecting the works and documents of Van Geluwe for years. A fund was established by a large group of sympathisers to facilitate this work.
The CKV considers the foundation a best practice, as previously discussed in the text written for Curating as Art Form, published in celebration of the artist’s 90th birthday.
